So....I love this song...and I know it's going to sound a bit self loathing...but sometimes it just feels good to cry....or to feel sad...or to know that it's ok to feel sad! I just got this CD for my birthday...and I can't find the song to play it on my page...so I thought I'd write it out! Everyone needs a song that they can just listen to over and over when they need a little time to think...cry...be alone...question...whatever! So this is mine right now..and I love it. Honestly I haven't really listened to it in a sad moment...but I like the honesty that this writer (sara groves) speaks of.
did you ever need a song that's soft and low
mood indigo...just because
did you ever need a Sabbath's pace...to sit and face
what no one does....
Or to take off your skin and start over again
to lay on your back and cry......
The kind that comes to wash your soul...scrub you clean and leave you whole...
The kind that leaves you heavy sighing....
Did you ever need to take account..of all you found
what's true or not
Did you ever need to bare your soul...to be truly known by a loving God.
Oh to take of your skin and to start over again....to lay on your back and cry...
The kind that leaves you puffy eyed...weighted with strange peace inside...the kind that leaves you heavy sighing.....

uh- yah. That song pretty much sums up my life!! I could use a good cry right now! Jake should not have had all that brownie at your place(and choc. milk Dan gave him at 10 pm last night after home group). Now his allergies have kicked in and he is a G-R-U-M-P today. But besides a bad day as a mother, I think that in general I need a moment or two to just reflect and STOP "doing". We are in very busy seasons in life! I love the way you expressed yourself in this post. I completely agree!!!
Yeah. The words sound like a great song for doing exactly what you wrote... my song right now? (Don't laugh)My Front Porch Looking In by Lonestar. I'm a bit of country-buff and I miss it because country music is basically non-exisistant in London. However, there's much more to the song that the surface reads (or better said - sings), especially when considering all that Micah and I have done this year. Part of the song says...
I've traveled here and everywhere, following my job, I've seen the paintings from the air brushed by the hand of God.
The mountains and the canyons reach from sea to shining sea, but I can't wait to get back home to the one he made for me.
Cause any where I'll ever go and every where I've been, Nothing takes my breath away like my front porch looking in.
Actually, this song reminds Micah and I of you guys... you should listen to it sometime! Maybe I'll try to e-mail it to you!
love, B
Hey Jenny,
I like that song too! Was that the same song that was playing at your house the other night while we made earrings? I thought it was pretty when it was playing then too. I totally know what you mean when say that sometimes it's good to cry. I think it's a good release of emotions, for happy and sad, frustrated and mad, thankful and glad. Look I'm a poet and didn't know it :) Ha ha ha. Well, I hope you have a great night, and I will talk to you later. P.S. the other night was so much fun, huh?! Love, Jacquie <><
