Goodbye Beautiful!

One of the things I have enjoyed most about moving into our home in February...is that there were so many wonderful surprises that came with spring! I planted a bunch of stuff not knowing that under all that naked soil and bare twigs were bulbs and beautiful plants just waiting to be warmed up. Well...it is now officially fall, and it is getting colder and colder. I dare say...it's time to say goodbye to all my garden beauties! They kept me busy this summer, but I enjoyed every moment!!

Goodbye sweet Dahlias!

(not pictured red and yellow by front porch)

Goodbye sweet sage!
(Not pictured...Rosemary,mint,and oregano)

Goodbye cute yellow things that bloom very late in summer. I'll learn your name by next spring!

Goodbye Sweet Sedum!

The bees loved you! I hated the bees!

Goodbye Sweet Fuchsia!

My fuchsia was cut clear to the ground in March...amazing that it got so big!

Goodbye Sweet clematis!

Goodbye Sweet Rose!

(sadly overexposed...it was a sunny day..I'm not muchof a photographer)

not pictured...wonderful pink roses in backyard! They are just about to bloom again...and I'm hoping we will get just a few more days of sun so that I can hold onto my flowers just a little bit longer!!

One of the things that brings me great joy in life is having fresh flowers in my house. It has been so great to be able to go outside by myself...or with the girls and cut flowers...arrange them..and have them all around the house for months on end. I have had the joy of giving many bouquets away and not having to spend a dime!! It's been wonderful. You may think I'm totally cheesy when it comes to my garden...you are right! It is the little things that bring me Joy...is that so wrong? :)

Also not pictured: Pink Hydrangea, red giums, loads of petunias, daisies, renacula, rhodies, pansies, and labilia! Thanks for the great summer!

Hana is 3!!! What a party!!

The girls helped with the preparations!! It's blurry, but I'm sure you can tell that they are test tasting the frosting to make sure mommy didn't forget any ingredients.

Your not playing hard enough unless someone falls down and scraped a knee!! Makayla was a little cranky that I took a picture before I got a band aid! Ooops.

"See daddy, it's right there," Makayla and the rest of the girls froze all thoughts of playing until a certain spider was killed! I think she takes after me a little that way :)

Super cute!! Hana with the candles! And...although I'm usually a little bit of a Nazi when it comes to themes and party planning, I let Hana pick out whatever she wanted, even if it didn't all go together. Gasp! So we had flower power noise makers...and horsey cupcakes with colored sprinkles!

Some hitting pointers from dad!

The hardest part about this was keeping the kids from getting whacked with the bat!! with each swing the kids got closer and closer with anticipation!! I thought for sure we were going to get a black eye by the end of the day...but we escaped any and all bat injuries that day :) Hurray!!

Sorry parents....I let the kids gather as much candy as would fit into their baggies! Kill me later :)

Hana, with hands full, kept trying to pick up more candy. To her dismay, every time she picked up a new piece, a different one escaped from her grasp. She couldn't figure it out! I watched her for a few minutes because it was so cute, and I'm a mean mommy :) then i got her a little baggy to put her "treasure" in.

Present time: Always fun and a little hectic. Hana really enjoys having things that are just her own. Being the 2nd child, most of the stuff they play with was Makayla's. It's been difficult explaining to makayla that everything that Hana got for her birthday does not belong to both of them. We are dealing with a little "I want....I want..." thing right now. I'm sure it will pass...after mak's birthday comes :)

Our girls wear dress-up clothes from morning to night! They have worn them down to threads!!! So we bought Hana a new dress up dress and she put it on immediately and wore it all day. she cried and cried when we had to take it off to put her jammies on. It was so sweet!!

No birthday would be complete without a little vomit! Ava, (you met her on the "Hana goes to gymnastics" blog) was acting a little down during the party, she even fell asleep on the chair in the living room. We thought she was feeling a little better when, with one arm in a cast, she went out to hit the pinata....but after presents she went back to the chair to rest! Of course...right when all the kids came clamoring around her to see how she was....it was then that she threw up. Poor thing! It was all cleaned up in a jiffy...and she is feeling much better today, (the day after). A special thanks to Ava for making Hana's 3rd Birthday especially unforgettable :)

So...all in all :) A wonderful time...always to be cherished..never forgotten!

My Little Flower girls!

Last weekend our family was in a wedding!!! We did it all. Dj officiated the wedding...I was a bridesmaid and sang, and the girls were the flower girls! It was a ton of fun...and a little stress...but all in all we had a good time. Here are a few pics that the photographer sent me. (she's a great friend and a great photographer if you ever need one)

We were very fortunate to have a pretty day for the wedding. I believe it was the last day of warm weather till next summer!

Makayla and Hana had to show up with me around 12:30! The wedding started at 5 and they did a wonderful job of controlling themselves!! The DVD player helped!!!

Sweet girls huttled up on the floor watching The Incredibles!

Me, Mak, and Hana!

Maybe I'll get my hand on some more pictures later! We'll see. One of my favorite moments in the ceremony was the worship time. I played guitar and sang...and before I knew it I had a percussionist! Makayla had walked over...tipped her flower basket over and started drumming for me. she was right by my side the whole time. It was very hard to stay focused...she was so darn cute! Maybe I'll be able to share a photo of that later!

Well...I'm off to preschool and the chaos that is my day!

Hana Hits the Gym!!

I asked Hana to give me a gymnastics pose for the picture. This is as close as we got! Isn't she adorable!

This is Hana's Buddy, Ava. I'm glad they enjoyed their first class together! Ava recently fell off her bike and had to have four pins put in above her elbow. (that's the short version of the story) So...Hana will be missing her friend for a little while....maybe by the time Ava returns to gymnastics Hana will know how to jump with both legs together..(she likes to prance)

So....this is a long video of Hana being absolutely eatable. There is one part of the video where you can hear Mak's voice call for Hana...Hana looks back........what you don't see is Makayla giving Hana a big thumbs up! I thought it was just about the cutest thing I've ever witnessed! Mak was totally bummed that she didn't get to be a part of the class. Maybe we'll have to get her into something soon, but she just started the school year again and I'm not sure how many activities to give her at once. "we'll see," seems to be the classic mom answer for that one.

Such is Life...

So....I'm sure so many of you are biting your nails...checking my blog...wondering..."is she ever going to post anything new?" Ya.....right! Most of you probably didn't realize that I haven't given my blog a passing glance in over a week. So much has happened that I haven't known where to begin. It's been one of those weeks..... One day I didn't even want to get out of bed...because I didn't know where to start! Ever have those days? What do I do first, paint..shower...then make breakfast...get girls' shoes for wedding...plan hana's b-day party....when do I schedule in a good cry for the sake of sanity?

Well....Here we are ..It's Saturday and I've made it through this week only slightly scathed. ( a self induced floor born from my hardwood floors... that's what I get for trying to do a reenactment of a previous "something funny" for my brother)
So...I'm going to show you this week...what has happened in the last two weeks...and hopefully I'll get caught up to my present life. If not..then I think I'll just always be living in the past...always posting about something that has come and gone ......long gone. I DON'T WANT TO DO THAT!! And now you say...."wow...jenny must be really deliriously tired because she is making no sense." While this is true, tired is always a possibility...but those that know me know that I rarely make sense. :)
Here we Go! Let's start at Mak's First Day of School!!

This is Mak acting Natural.
Super cute outfit. Did you go shopping with Ava??

Coloring in her new classroom.

Playing with her braids during listening time.

Giving the class Mascot a big squeeze!

We had a ton of fun! It's strange to see her in a new environment, but exciting at the same time. She has really enjoyed being at Heritage and She is learning new things every day. I can't believe that she'll be in Kindergarten next year. Ok...enough of that. That's the last of the kindergarten talk!
What you'll have to look forward to on my next post: Hana goes to Gymnastics!!!

Deep Thoughts: by Makayla Vick

A Random Picture of Makayla being the "Captain" of the Park Ship

While eating our post lunch ice cream, Makayla Started a Dialog that goes as fallows:

Mak: I don't think we should have have Time-out spots anymore.

Mom (me): Oh ya....what do you propose?

Mak: I think we should just get spanked like Papa did when he was a little boy.

Mom: (jaw dropped) Are you sure? We don't really do spankings around here.

Mak: Ya...Time-out spots are like boring...you don't let us have toys...or like books..or dress up clothes or anything. I would rather just get spanked and then go play. So just spank me instead ok? (my little boss)

Mom: Not really knowing what to say...just laughed to myself a little and ate my ice cream. If I ever doubted that Makayla had inherited Dj's sense of accomplishing as much as possible in as little amount of time possible...I think this conversation has clarified my position on the matter.

What is in a name??? tag # 2

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
(crazy hair picture on top of the space needle)

2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts.

4. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

I have a long middle name....here we go.

Suzanne (Sue-Z-Anne) long on the 'a' ... not susan!

S- secretly or not so secretly would love to win Publishers clearing house or something that would allow my to hang out in my backyard with my kids all day every day :)

U- Umbrella?? I know I live in Seattle...but really...I have no use for one. They get soggy....don't fit in a purse... Unless...it is the Umbrella song by Rhianna. Makayla and I like listening to that in the car.

Z- Zebra print hater!!! no zebra blankets...pillows...or clothes. PLEASE!

A-'Alias' fan forever! Super bummed when it went off the air

N- Never going to be a size '0' again!!

N-Nice ....most of the time :)

E- Eventually going to get this finished....paint my girls bench....go to London to visit Pilgrims...start going to the gym...stop sleeping in...get my masters...get better at the guitar...remember to call people on their Birthdays. (Sorry Mandy)

There is my name....in a nutshell...a walnut actually...those are my favorite.
New "made up by me tagging rule" is : You may not tag the same person twice in one day. It's just not nice. Therefore, (what is the THERE for ? you ask ) I will not be tagging anyone at the end of this message since I tagged most of you earlier in the day. You are welcome!

I've been Tagged!! And not with a can of spray paint.

The meme rules
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/stories about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog ;)

Believe it or not I've been tagged for two different blogger games. I'll do this one now...and the other one after the kids are in bed. Here we go!!

1. I'm the last one to wake up in my house. Everyday..the last one!
2. I have a weakness for Jr.mints.
3. I have two adorable kiddos...(if you've ever read my blog then you know that about me.)
4. I didn't get my driver's licence until I was 19! I know...you don't have to say it...Pathetic.
5. I have multiple memories, (from my childhood), of waking up from a nap with gum in my hair. To this day grape bubble yum is ruined for me!
6. I too am in my very first book-club ever. I have to go find the book still...but I'm in it!
7. Realizing I'm not very interesting right now :) I have somehow....someway...convinced Dj that coffee is delicious. I've tangled him in my caffeine web!! (it might be the 1/2 cup of hazelnut creamer he puts in his cup) I still consider it a victory!
8. Drum roll please.....#8...I hate letter verification....and I hate chain letters...but I love my friends...so this is for them :)

I, therefore, under the mandate of the rules of this game, along with my bad grammar and horrifying spelling dub the fallowing people tagged: Allie, Karen, Kerri, Tim, Becca, jen t., (those are all the people I know that blog...) Enjoy!!
