Exciting News!!

So here it is. It has been a long journey and I'm thankful to say that it's finished. At least this portion is finished. The E.P. has been sent off and is now being duplicated and packaged..even as I type this. In a few weeks...Probably the 17th..I will have the Cd's in my hands..and then hopefully in your hands!

Pumpkin Carving!

Well...sad to say this is the first year we have not gone to the pumpkin patch as a family to get our pumpkins! I'm not sure how October has flown by so quickly..but it has ...and it's nearly gone! I was home sick and thought there was no time better to get our Carve on!No...we don't always let our girls sit on the table :) Aren't they cute though. we told them they had to change into play clothes for carving. Hana put on a t-shirt and tights!

Hana, although very strong and brute like at times, is very dainty when it comes to scooping out the guts! Mak on the other hand...

Not so much! Mak got after it!

Here is Kiko trying to get in on the action!

The finished products!

Maks on the left..Hana's in the middle..and mine on the right and down below. And Kiko again..trying to figure out what I'm doing.

BOO!!!
Happy Hallo-Harvest!
(Thought I would combine them as to not offend anyone) :)
P.S. Since we had both white pumpkins and orange ones..we did a bake off to see which pumpkins made the best roasted seeds! With Hana at my side and Makayla at school we rinsed and buttered and seasoned and separated and cooked! The winner is.... ORANGE!
The white was just too sweet..and the Orange was nice and toasty tasting!

To JELB! The book club of Jenny, Eva, Laura, and Becky...WoW!!
I finally finished ATSS and it took me forever..but really only a few sittings..I just needed the time to devote to it since once I started reading...I couldn't put it down. I had heard that it was more heart wrenching than the Kite Runner...but I didn't feel that way. I understand how it could be as a woman reading a woman's point of view, but I do feel that there was so much more redemption in this novel. The sorrow that was experienced was a heroic sorrow. The Love that was experienced was a deep, forever, Anne of green gables kind of Love. And although I always hoped for the best with the introduction of each new character, I knew that hardship was just around the corner, because that is the way Khaled Hosseini writes..and I do believe it is a pretty accurate description of the times he writes about! I'm not sure if all of the JELB ladies have finished the book..so I don't want to spoil it, but WOW! This has been one of my favorite books of all time. I loved it when it made me cry and when it made me wince. You must read it if you haven't already done so! Two thumbs up and a hankey in hand.

Confessions of an Inspired Mama!

I finally went to the gym again today...Dj and I have been biking about once a week...but I haven't been to the gym in like a million years! And as the story goes...
So I'm pedalling half heartedly when a woman steps onto the treadmill in front of me and I was hit...no confronted...with inspiration! Now...this may sound rude....but the woman in front of me...she had the smallest waist I've ever seen...coupled with one of the largest rear-ends I've ever seen! I quickly found myself pedaling something fierce! Sweat dripping...heart pounding...calories burning...and so on! Although I come from a family of small women..we are known for gaining no weight from the hips up...it's the hips down that haunt us..and as Halloween approaches I would like to only be haunted by goblins and ghosts..and not by my own buns thank you very much! Guess where I'll be tomorrow! You got it...save a spot for me in spinning class please! and Thank you!

Happy 6th Birthday Makayla!!!
This is my crazy little 6-year-old!! She will introduce herself..."Hello, I'm Makayla, I am 6 and I'm getting my molers!
The Loot!
I pulled it off....Mak wanted a hello kitty cake and here it is! I was quite sad to cut it up and serve it to the kiddies...but it sure was yummy!
We decorated pumpkins...I ran out and sadie wanted to do one...luckily I had a baby white!
All the little pumpkin heads!

She was so excited about blowing out her candles!
Present time!!

We had a really fun birthday party and only one kid stepped on dog poop! Success!

Pumpkin Farm for Hana

Well...I've started making a bit of a blog "comeback" the only hard thing now is what to start with...so I thought we would start in the now...
This is Hana's pre-school class trying to line up for their Field trip..."It's too sunny!"
We first saw the Pygmy goats. They were so cute..and completely infatuated with my boots. I didn't get a picture because I was a little overwhelmed...within a few seconds of being in the coral with them I had 7 little goats surrounding me licking and chewing on my rubber boots. It was quite comical!
Gazing at the little white chickens. Hana was a little sulky here because her friend Ally wouldn't hold her hand :(

This was Hana..and My favorite part of the trip. 7-day-old piggies! They were so adorable.
This was the runt...scratching his side against the wood.
Hana carefully selected her pumpkin...
Pretty Peacock
We had a really great time at the Farm. It was an interesting experience to only go with Hana. In the past I have had Hana with me..but on Makayla's field trips..and now that Mak is in school it's just me and Hana on days like this! I must say...it is very nice to get to spend that time together :)
Be back soon with more of what we've done this fall!
