What's keeping us Busy!

This past weekend we had a Pastor's conference in Sequim (Squ-i-m) not (See-quim). It was a ton of fun. We rode the ferry over with our friends Matt and Allie. We were all pretty excited to get a few 'kid free' days under our belts!

There is something about the Ferry that I love. I'm not sure what it is exactly ...I just love it. I think everything about it is great! Except for the $ rates. I think I'll walk on the Ferry with the girls soon...just for fun. I think they'll enjoy it!

Dj, Matt, and Bob...chatting down below....Allie and I went upstairs to check out the view!

It was way freezing cold up top and super windy! This is our attempt at a picture facing into the sun.

Ok...so sometimes my camera does weird things! This is one of those times. When Allie and I saw this pictures we laughed so hard we nearly buckled over in pain! Pretty Glamorous shot don't you think?

We stopped in a cute little town for lunch...can't remember the name of it, but the buildings were super cute and looked like they haven't been changed in years! Like Little house on the prairie or something!

This is the yarn store/fire station. I never looked next door to see if it was still an actual fire station...I'm guessing 'no', but it was so super cute!

The last night at the conference they had a bbq company come in and cater it. This guy didn't look up from the meat..he just plopped something on your plate from these huge bins piled high with meat! He practically threw an entire chicken on my plate...I thought the weight of the chicken was going to make the plate fall from my hands....it was good chicken!

The Blue grass band to go along with the 'Down home' cooking.

Dj and Matt enjoy an ice-cream cone before we head home. I've never seen two grown men more excited about ice cream!

There was obviously more to this 'conference' weekend then what I've shown. The sessions were wonderful. We got to hear from many of the young pastors in our area, including Dj. I had the privilege of being a part of the worship team with a bunch of really neat people....and I learned some new stuff in the process! It seemed that throughout these couple of days a theme worked it's way up to the surface. Without sounding to cheesy...everyone needs people. We all need someone that we can talk to candidly...that will talk to us candidly...we all need people that will encourage us to strive after the fullness that God has for us. One pastor spoke about how the Glory of the Lord walks into a room with us....but we need to spend time with Him...and in His word...then people will see that in us...we don't need any fancy words...or emotional music...people can see God in us and through us if we indeed spend time with Him.
I learned more than what I've already written about....I even wrote it out..but then deleted it. Sometimes I like a little more time with my thoughts.. for them to be just my own. As soon as I share them ..it's almost as if they loose a little bit of the grip they had on me. Maybe that sounds lame...or a little too poet in a Beret on the street! But it's just me... so maybe I'll have those thoughts ready to share next time. Maybe not! We'll see.
Go enjoy your day today...the winds that blow...the kids that play..it all is fleeting..it doesn't stay.......Enjoy your day...get on your way!
