Something not so Wonderful

So this week I lost a friend. I haven't seen her since college, but she gave me some of my most favorite memories. Jen was a friend, a wife, and a mother. A very smart and caring woman. She has battled for her life, for all of her life. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis...and later died from cancer she contracted from a lung transplant. Although she was sick on and off....she was always joyful...and encouraging. She beamed of light and goodness. The thing I've learned from Jen is that our circumstances can't dictate us. She lived an amazing life...one that most people don't bother trying to live. She was a writer, public speaker, mother, wife, friend, daughter, athlete, and she did all these things well. I pay tribute to her courage, and for showing me, even through her death, to Live! Every moment is a gift from God not to be wasted~ to sit and do nothing is a shame ~ to live and love much is gain. Live ~ Love ~ Laugh ~ make memories~ make Today matter~

That is so sad. :( I haven't seen her since college either, but we had a mutual friend when we were stationed in Germany...

Sorry. I was Maureen Coffey at good old WBC. We (you and I) had a ton of English classes together.

I have your face in my mind now. Thanks for reminding me! I only asked because I want to know who is looking at the blog...mainly because of the pics of my kids :)

I keep up with Becky's blog and linked over to yours one day through something she'd mentioned.

make today matter... I like that phrase at the end of your post. Thanks for sharing about Jennifer - I should have checked your blog before I made my post, but I said a few words about her too. It was hard to see Jeff and Laura (Jen's mom), but I'm glad I went to the viewing on Friday night... tell you more about it soon. love, Becky
