Softball Fun!!!

We had a fundraiser softball game this past weekend to raise money for stuff that the kids need in the new youth facility. It was a ton of fun!!! I haven't played since college....and although it was suppose to be a nice fun game, I couldn't keep my competitive juices at bay. I played hard, ran hard...and now I'm whimpering hard. I'm so sore I can hardly move around my house and I make grandma noises when I stand up, pick a child up, sit down, get in the car, cross my legs, sit on the couch... etc.... :) Lesson to be learned here.....when you haven't worked out in 6 years maybe you shouldn't "play big or go home."

Dj is very intense in this moment...He is showing the ump that he has the ball..."why isn't he out!!!!" Dj wonders. He didn't realize that he had to tag the person for the out....it wasn't a force out...but it was a totally funny moment!

Dawn Totally stepped in front of the Ball to create a little Softball Drama!!! Oh...the pain!!! :) Needless to say it was counted a strike :) Nice shorts Dawn!!!

I got to play second base, first base, and center. It was a ton of fun!!!

I am proud to say that DJ had one at bat, I had two, and we both got on base both times :) I attribute my sore body to that fact. I had two singles...but both times the people behind me in the batting order had triples. I did a lot more sprinting than my mommy legs can handle :)

Oh....Did I forget to mention that our team lost? :( Bummer. The game was student ministries vs. Children's ministries. Children's had some pretty hard hitters that caused quite a bit of trouble. :) I can't wait until next years game. I'll start getting ready for it right after I can walk again.

Once again - all I can say is - I love it! Way to play hard, hit hard, and whine hard. Now that we're in our "late 20's" what else can we do, right? :) Love ya! ~b
